Schärdinger brought the tasteless swastika image to court

A 23-year-old from the Schärding district in Ried had to answer before a jury on Monday for the crime of re-activation.

According to the indictment by the Ried public prosecutor’s office, the accused sent a graphic with National Socialist content via the WhatsApp news service on July 7, 2020. The picture showed a slingshot with a swastika motif. A child with dark skin was clamped in this slingshot, and the picture had the word “dirty slingshot” written on it.

The defendant appeared in court as a matter of principle. But he has absolutely nothing to do with National Socialism. He couldn’t really remember sending the picture because he was “probably drunk”. The accused was lucky: the jury acquitted him. The acquittal is already final.
