Parts of the former farmhouse, in which three apartments are located, were in full fire, the fire brigade informed on Wednesday morning. Nobody was injured, and the residents of the three apartments were all already outside when the fire brigade arrived. The house is near a quarry lake – this made extinguishing the fire easier.
At 4:15 a.m., the St. Willibald drone base was alerted. The drone pilots provided operations manager Johannes Veroner with thermal images from the air. Extinguishing work was only possible from the outside, as the house could not be entered for security reasons.
“In the meantime we are busy with the subsequent extinguishing work and are still extinguishing individual embers,” says Veroner at 9.30 a.m. The three apartments are uninhabitable, two of which cannot be entered because there is a risk that the ceiling, which has partially burned through, will collapse. The adjoining barn was saved by the fire brigade. Fire investigators are on site.
