Four wins in a row, ten successes from the last twelve games: At Union Gurten things are going really well in the middle regional league. With 34 points, coach Peter Madritsch’s team is now in fourth place, but promotion is not an issue because they have not applied for a second division license. In the title race, the Gurtner could still tip the scales. On March 11, Gurten beat the second LASK amateurs at home. On Sunday afternoon (3.30 p.m.), WSC Hertha from Wels will be the next title candidate in the Innviertel. “I’m expecting an outstanding opponent who actually almost has to be promoted this year due to the budget. A lot of things have to come together for our successful streak to continue,” says Madritsch. Jakob Kreuzer (ligament stretching) and Thomas Reiter (back) are questionable for the Gurtners.
On Friday at 6.45 p.m. (Josko-Arena) the Young Vikings welcome the Wolfsberger AC amateurs. “I expect an attractive duel on an equal footing in the game between these two young, dynamic teams,” says SVR Sport Director Wolfgang Fiala.
Lukas Brandl will once again take a seat on the bench as interim coach. “I hope that we can present the new head coach soon. There were two good talks with candidates again this week. The timing for such an appointment is not exactly ideal. It is important that we can continue on the path we have taken with the new coach.” , says Fiala.
