In Wels, flowers and birds are not the heralds of spring, but the folk festival: From March 31 to April 2, Messe Wels and OÖNachrichten will again welcome thousands of visitors to the exhibition center – of course with numerous rides and hustle and bustle.
As always, the starting signal is the day before: on Thursday, March 30th, the lighting test including the beer tapping will take place. From 7.15 p.m. there will also be a performance by the “Pramtaler Plattlermädls”, before the “PartyHirschen” will play in the festival tent “Zum Ludwig” from 8 p.m. On Friday from 7.30 p.m. the band “Zwirn” will play, on Saturday “Wildbach”. On Sunday from 11.30 a.m. “The young Waldensteiners”.
On the first “real” day of the folk festival, on Friday, the exhibition grounds belong to the families from 1 p.m. – on the family afternoon there is a discount of up to 50 percent on the rides.
The wine village, numerous bands and the “Happy Easter Party” on Saturday with a gift for the first 100 visitors are further highlights. Connoisseurs will get their money’s worth on Sunday from 3 p.m. at the “Culinary Wine Afternoon”.
A visit to the folk festival can be combined with the two trade fairs that are taking place at the same time in Wels: “Urlaub und Urlaub” offers tips for traveling in Austria, while “Blooming Austria” is where the exhibitors present the garden trends for 2023.
