100,000 public sector employees will mobilize for salary improvements

The Commercial Public Services union announced that this Tuesday there will be a massive strike to demand wages, pensions, dismissal conditions and social security.

This Tuesday April 28 there will be a massive public sector general strike in Great Britain in a dispute with the government over salaries, pensions, dismissal conditions and social security. As reported by the Commercial Public Services Union, there will be more than 100,000 hardworking employees who adhere to the measure.

“Employees of the public sector and civilians will declare themselves in strike from today until the end of aprilwith the Passport Office workers on strike for five weeksuntil May 6,” the PCS union announced in a statement.

“Our members they will not back down from this conflict“, declared the general secretary of the PCS, Mark Serwotka. “Ministers have to realize that we are intensifying our actionand they have to resolve the conflict by putting money on the table.”

It will not be the first union mobilization for salary claims. At the beginning of the month, thousands of civil servants from various departments of the Administration staged a series of strikes together with a multitude of other employees, such as railway workers, doctors and teachers, to demand better wage increases to deal with the cost of living crisis.
