An arrest was made on Friday evening at the Wels exhibition center. At around 9:30 p.m., folk festival visitors approached the police and reported a fight. The officers made their way to the scene and met a group of young men there. The focus was on a drunk 20-year-old from Krenglbach (Wels-Land district), who had just been held back by two friends.
Contradictory statements
He was beaten by three people, the young man said. His friends, on the other hand, said that the 20-year-old only fell. They wanted to take him home. But her boyfriend didn’t like that at all. He resisted vigorously, police said. He was therefore asked to leave the exhibition grounds. When the man then started screaming, he filed a complaint for disorderly conduct.
Man wanted to punch cop in the face
The officials accompanied the drunk – the alcohol test showed more than two per thousand – to the exit. Shortly before that, the 20-year-old broke free and tried to hit a policeman in the face with his fist. There was an arrest. In the police station, he is said to have repeatedly threatened officers with killing. “Due to his degree of alcoholization, an interrogation could not be carried out for the time being,” said the State Police Directorate. The young man now has to reckon with several ads.
