One of the big surprises is SV Grün-Weiss Micheldorf in this year’s Upper Austrian football league season: After the Kremstalers were involved in the relegation battle until the very end in recent seasons, the league dinosaur of the highest league in the state is up to date relatively safe there.
Micheldorf even finished the autumn round in fifth place. A success that is also linked to coach Hubert Zauner: In September 2021, the 32-year-old took over the green and whites, led the club to stay up in the league and is currently enjoying a carefree season with his team.
From the summer, however, they will part ways. The Micheldorf coach announced to those responsible for the club on Monday that he would be withdrawing from his contract, which actually ran until the summer of 2024. “I need a change of scenery,” confirms Zauner to OÖN. His farewell tour begins on Saturday when he and Micheldorf make a guest appearance at ASK St. Valentin.
