Tanzwerker shone at show dance championship

With 78 shows and 189 young dancers, the Welser were the largest group in Austria. A total of 702 dances, from classic to urban, from ballet to musicals, were shown in the Arena Nova over four days.

“The many years of development work from early childhood are now having an effect not only in hip-hop & Co. but also in technical disciplines such as ballet, jazz or musicals,” says chief choreographer Jörg Hippmann, referring to the “Diamond” award for the musical show “Oh my God” with 110 out of 120 possible points.

Founded 25 years ago

The Tanzwerker have been extremely successful at state championships and international competitions for many years. This summer, by the way, the 25th anniversary is being celebrated. The festivities will kick off with the showdown on July 14th and 15th.

In the previous week we went to Wiener Neustadt with two stick buses and many escort vehicles, and there were also many parents who crossed their fingers on site.

“All our trainers have led our kids to top performances, we find it really difficult to single out individual dancers or groups,” says coordinator Claudia Hippmann. It was also a great cooperation of all dance studios and groups from all over the country, many contacts and friendships were made. The people from Wels not only shone in terms of dancing, the prize for the “best costume of all entries” went to the Tanzwerk kids team, which took 2nd place in the category Production Number large group children with the show “Trolls”.

The Tanzwerker will continue in about two weeks in Porec (Croatia), where a total of 7000 dancers will compete in the “Dancestar World Finals”, the largest dance competition in the world.
