A 53-year-old from Altheim drove his car in the municipal area of Aspach on the L507 in the direction of Wildenau at around 9:45 p.m. on Saturday. At the level of the Wildenau bathing lake, he wanted to leave the L507 and used the exit lane. He captured a 50-year-old from Braunau.
Despite attempts at resuscitation by the Red Cross and the Ried im Innkreis emergency medical team, the 50-year-old died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the car suffered minor injuries but refused treatment. An alcohol test at the 53-year-old was negative. The road had to be closed for two hours during the rescue and clean-up work.
