Police officers from WEGA disguised as superheroes and an officer from the State Criminal Police Office surprised young patients in the mother-child center at the Favoriten clinic on Tuesday. The WEGA officials exchanged their uniforms for costumes, roped down from the roof of the clinic as Batman, Iron Man, Wonder Woman or Spiderman, among other things, and performed tricks in front of the clinic’s windows.
After the police helicopter flew the heroes to the clinic, the rappelling from a dizzying height began. The action was accompanied by a quartet of police music that performed melodies from action classics. Then the police gifts delivered in the radio truck were distributed and one or two souvenir photos were taken. Before the officers put on their usual uniforms again, they visited the children in the hospital.
“During the years of the pandemic, we saw that children in particular suffered greatly from the social distance and restrictions. We are all the more pleased that there is now the opportunity for special campaigns and beautiful memories again,” said Barbara Schubert, Administrative director of the clinic, quoted in a broadcast.
