The dishwasher is an exception. Here, at least 45 percent of the men surveyed stated that they could put it in and out in more than half the time. Among the female respondents, almost 50 percent said that about themselves.
According to their own statements, three quarters of the women surveyed do all the laundry. About the same number usually or always dust the apartment and clean the toilet. 71 percent of women stated that they mainly make sure that the bathroom and kitchen are clean. Men, on the other hand – in line with the cliché – take care of repairs, taking out the garbage (58 percent) and new purchases (47 percent) in 71 percent of the cases.
15 percent of men do not do any housework at all
A third of the men surveyed said they vacuumed more than half of the time. Among the female respondents, there were not quite twice as many (61 percent). When doing the shopping, almost 40 percent of the men stated that they did more than half of the shopping, but here too, 59 percent were mostly women. According to the survey, the unfair distribution of household chores became particularly clear with the iron. Just 13 percent of men stated that they ironed laundry more than half of the time, while 59 percent of women agreed.
Almost 15 percent of the men stated in the survey that they did not deal with household chores at all. In contrast, just four percent of the women surveyed agreed that they generally did not take care of the household.
