Although these movies are all about speed, the Hollywood phenomenon Fast & Furious has been taking more than 20 years to get anywhere near an ending.

“Fast & Furious 10” opens in cinemas tomorrow. For a long time it seemed certain that the US production would be Vin Diesel’s final outing as the main character Dominic Toretto.

After that it became official that the finale will be a two-parter. Until the Californian recently revealed at the US trade fair CinemaCon, which connoisseurs of the never-to-be-dead series should have expected long ago. Those responsible asked him “whether we wouldn’t make a trilogy out of the finale,” said the 55-year-old. Co-star Michelle Rodriguez (44) – both have been there since part one (2001) – assumes that they will “probably” be committed to a twelfth part.

The “Fast” saga thus extends its travel time by a whopping four years. The second final part (film number eleven) is scheduled to start in 2025, the third could be in 2027. Why is this possible? The money is right.

All of the “Fast” movies have grossed more than $6.6 billion on a budget of $1.4 billion. For fans of the media brand’s earlier films, there has been a cheering message since May 12th.

Dwayne Johnson will return to “The Family” as Luke Hobbs in the second finale. Although the saga was very kind to Diesel and Johnson, a feud had broken out between the “bald alphas,” with Johnson reportedly calling Diesel “an unprofessional wimp.” The PR benefited, Google throws out ten million hits. There are 2.7 billion hits for one star of the saga: Paul Walker, who won the hearts of the stars as Brian O’Conner. He died in 2013 at the age of 40 like Hollywood icon James Dean – in a car accident. A tragedy that bound fans more closely to “Fast & Furious”. The part made $1.7 billion. It could only be completed by his brothers doubling Walker and digitally enhancing previous recordings of him.

In “Fast & Furious 10” Walker’s daughter Meadow (24) will pay tribute to his legacy in a small appearance.
