Karl Diwold, who previously headed the region as chairman, resigned his position after twelve years of activity. As his successor, Peter Wiklicky from Freistadt is now running the business. The former specialist inspector for music is also the musical director of the Freistadt choir community and is very familiar with the choral scene in the Mühlviertel. Gudrun Lehner, director of the Gutau church choir, was elected as his deputy. Evelyn Haselmayr (youth work) and Andreas Holzer, who oversees the musical activities as the regional choir director, continue to work in the team.
The Mühlviertel Choir Association brings together 40 member choirs with almost 1,200 singers. In addition, the team of the regional association looks after 72 church and 11 school choirs.
