The Miba based in Laakirchen develops batteries for the new Italian premium e-car manufacturer Aehra. Ultra-fast charging with up to 350 kW and a peak voltage of up to 926 volts should enable a range of up to 800 kilometers with up to 120 kW miba on Tuesday. The first vehicles are scheduled for delivery in 2026.

The project focuses on sustainability and therefore focuses on repairability, a long service life for the batteries and the entire vehicle. The tailor-made battery is designed to optimize range and efficiency while saving weight. Stefan Gaigg, Managing Director of miba Battery Systems, said: “Our technology will help Aehra achieve their goal of delivering super-efficient vehicles in the premium EV segment. In addition to these performance goals, we share a common desire to reduce the carbon footprint and improve the recyclability of the battery system improve.”

“Our battery technology supports bi-directional charging, allowing customers to be able to feed power back into the grid and power their homes, for example,” said Franco Cimatti, Aehra’s chief engineering officer, who was previously a long-time Ferrari test engineer. Customers who supply their house with PV systems could use the battery as a temporary storage facility.

Aehra, headquartered in Milan, was founded in 2022 to significantly improve the design, driving experience and customer care of electric vehicles. The company operates worldwide and is privately funded.
