Dead brown bear found on train track

The driver reported the collision with the animal to the police. The bear stayed dead between the rails of the Tauernbahn. According to the first information, it is a brown bear, informed the state media center.

Hubert Stock, the state representative for bears and wolves, was on his way to Schwarzach in the morning to take DNA samples to clarify the origin of the animal. Stock is in contact with the Landesjägerschaft to determine the next steps. There it was said on request that the circumstances were not yet known. The animal is currently being removed from the tracks.
