A 16-year-old who went under in a pond while swimming with friends died in the hospital on Tuesday, according to the Lower Austria State Police Headquarters. The youth had been flown from “Christophorus 9” to Vienna General Hospital in critical condition.
After about a quarter of an hour, the 16-year-old was discovered by a bather at a depth of three to four meters and brought to the shore. The cause of the bathing accident was not immediately clear.
