With the material from the surveillance camera of a bank in Linz and the secured fingerprints from September 2017, the police were able to arrest a 37-year-old Pole in Salzburg. The man is accused of breaking into a bank in Linz with a second burglar through a window in September 2017.

However, the two must have been disturbed when opening the cash drawer, which is why they fled without taking anything. In July 2018, burglars tried to break into a safe in a Salzburg old town shop, failed and stole crockery worth a five-digit euro amount.

The traces found in the Salzburg shop matched those in Linz, so an arrest warrant was issued against the Pole. The man has now been taken to the Salzburg prison, so far he has refused to testify and has not given any information about his accomplice.
