From Friday, May 26th to Sunday, May 28th, the individual state championships in weightlifting for women and men will take place in the Kultursaal Vösendorf. A total of 150 participants are registered – eleven of them come from the Innviertel (8x Union Lochen, 3x Ranshofen).
Many of them are going into the race as favorites, including 30-year-old Patrick Dürnberger from Ranshofen, who is also the defending champion in the weight class up to 102 kilograms. Also favorite and defending champion is Petra Schmutzer (Union Lochen) in the weight class up to 55 kilograms. In the class up to 71 kilograms, 18-year-old Lena Raidel (Union Lochen) cannot compete due to a back injury.
WKG Innviertel Lochen/Ranshofen II has already had its third “fight” in the national league. The weightlifters of the competition community prevailed against WKG Öblarn/AV Graz 1-0 away. With this, the WKG Innviertel II ended the preliminary round in second place in the western group.
