Google sponsors German women’s national team

This was announced by group boss Sundar Pichai and the German Football Association (DFB) on Thursday in Berlin. The Internet giant justified its financial commitment with the increased interest, also in social media.

According to their own statements, Google recorded a 450 percent increase in search queries for the tournament at the European Championship last summer compared to the previous Women’s European Championship. No information was given on the financial details of the partnership. The cooperation relates to the Google Pixel brand, under which the company offers smartphones, headphones and other electronic devices.
