The man from the Vöcklabruck district was on the A1 in the direction of Vienna when he wanted to leave the autobahn just before 10 p.m. at the Oberwang exit. He hit the lane divider, threw himself over the exit and came to a standstill across the lane.
The man initially lay unconscious in his car, but regained consciousness shortly thereafter. He was injured in the accident and had to be taken to the Salzkammergut Klinikum Vöcklabruck by ambulance after first aid. An alcohol test carried out resulted in a value of 1.62 per thousand.
The police were able to block the exit immediately, it was not passable until 12:15 a.m.
