In the border area with Venezuela, the rebels continue to attack the public forces in the midst of peace negotiations with the government.
Since May 17, the parties have been meeting in Havana, and yesterday they announced another 10 days of talks.
The High Commissioner for Peace, Danilo Rueda, highlighted today the need to agree on a ceasefire “as soon as possible.”
“That the ELN attributes it to them is a gesture of responsibility to clarify the situation and there will be a moment and a judicial scenario for these acts to be sanctioned,” Rueda told the media.
Last Wednesday, President Gustavo Petro had condemned the “terrorist action” and sent “a hug of solidarity for the families of the victims of this atrocious act.”
