The accused, Syrian and Russian nationals from the district of Vöcklabruck, Linz and Vienna, proceeded in the same way in all crimes. The suspects had previously contacted the victims and offered this drug, mainly cocaine, for sale. When the victims refused to buy the drug, the suspects robbed them together.

During the first robbery on April 16, 2023 at 3:50 a.m., a heavily intoxicated man was held by the perpetrators with his hands behind his back on his way home in Timelkam and meanwhile searched by a perpetrator. The victim’s purse was taken from his pocket and cash in the amount of 38 euros was stolen. The victim was then threatened.

That same night at 2:40 am, the Timelkam perpetrators coerced three victims, who also refused to buy drugs. The victims were forced to delete a video they made out of fear of the perpetrators.

In the second robbery on April 23, 2023 at 1 a.m., the perpetrators in Timelkam again took the same approach. However, violence, kicking, and several dangerous threats were used. A fleeing victim, who fell as a result of the use of force, was then hit in the head with a glass bottle.

The third robbery was committed on May 8, 2023 in the area of the Vöcklabruck train station. This was again an alleged drug sale or a drug handover. During the purchase, a perpetrator slapped the victim’s face with his hand without warning. The purse and a perfume were then snatched from the victim. The victim was also threatened with violence and asked to go to the nearby ATM with the perpetrators in order to hand over more cash to the perpetrators.

During the three robberies, the perpetrators stole a total of 83 euros in cash, a bottle of perfume, a cap and a mobile phone. The perpetrators have not confessed to the allegations. Three perpetrators, 17 and 18 years old, were taken to Wels Prison on the basis of arrest orders from the Wels public prosecutor’s office. A 16-year-old was reported at large.
