Officials from the Altlengbach Motorway Police Inspectorate temporarily removed the number plates and the registration certificate. Both the driver and the vehicle owner can expect a display. According to the State Police Directorate, the onward journey was “prohibited until the lawful state had been established”.
The bus was occupied by ten people and was on the way from Germany to Romania. Due to damage to the wheel bearing, the tire is said to have been removed in order to be able to continue the journey to the destination without immediate repair, the police reported. The 64-year-old Romanian driver is said to have attached a lashing strap to the frame to stabilize the axle.
