The storm front moved towards midnight from Bavaria and Salzburg across Upper Austria and quickly spread across the state. Most of the fire brigade alerts were due to numerous uprooted trees that had fallen on roads and power lines. In Frauenstein (Kirchdorf an der Krems district), the roof structure of a residential building was partially covered, in Micheldorf gusts of wind swept away a garden shed and numerous construction site safeguards.
The emergency services also had to move out due to blown vehicles and flooding, and there were also fires, for example in electrical systems. A total of around 200 missions were reported in Upper Austria. The fire brigade expects further isolated storm damage operations during the day, but it is assumed that the situation will relax by noon at the latest.
