the mayor of Paysandu, Nicolas Olivera, and the mayor of Future, Ramiro Ayende —both belonging to National Party-, staged a striking episode at the entrance of the Child and Family Care Center (CAIF) of the town, when the mayor prevented the entry of children and families to the establishment.

“Get me out of here”, Ayende snapped at the Sanducero mayor, and he repeated it several times while blocking the CAIF door with his body before Olivera’s incredulous look and a “opa, does he resist, then?” as a surprised response, as can be seen in the video released by El Telégrafo. According to the nationalist mayor, the establishment was a risk due to a high voltage cable “that he could kill all the gurises”, and for this reason he prevented the entrance.

“Let them enter the property that belongs to the Paysandú Municipality. In the event that you do not let us, we will request the concurrence of the public force to gain access. I hope, Mr. Mayor, that sanity prevails,” Olivera told him, who had attended along with a notary, a locksmith, municipal personnel and police officers from the Fourth Sectional. Ayende’s response was that no one prevented entry, “they only came from heavy.”

The exchange continued for several minutes, filmed by those present and broadcast by the mayor of Porvenir himself, who kept his cell phone focused on Olivera the entire time, while the families also asked for the CAIF to be opened.

“The show is over, mayor,” said the mayor of Paysandú before asking the police to come to the locksmith to open the door. “Do you manipulate the public force? gentlemen neighbors, the mayor of Paysandú manipulates the public forcethis is a serious fact, that everyone knows Uruguay”, Ayende redoubled the bet, who was quickly accused of “playing a role.”

Finally, the mayor of Porvenir agreed to open the door: “I have the key and I open it.” “Let’s go up, mayor. Let’s go up, Ayende”, Olivera closed, with an ironic tone.
