15 people recovered unharmed from the Kitzbüheler Hornbahn

Since it was not possible to continue the journey or run empty, 15 people had to be rescued from the gondolas, the Kitzbühel mountain railways said. They were all unharmed, it said. The salvage was successfully completed by 1.45 p.m.

The exact cause of the defect was initially unclear. According to those responsible, the system will be checked. The mountain railways assumed that operations would resume tomorrow, Sunday. The Kirchberg, Kitzbühel and Jochberg mountain rescue services, the volunteer fire brigade and an emergency helicopter were deployed.
