At the end of June 2023, a 48-year-old woman in the Braunau am Inn district suffered an overdose due to mixed use of cocaine and cannabis, as a result of which she had to be hospitalized. Investigations by the Coordinated Criminal Investigation Service Braunau (KKD) enabled the alleged supplier of the drugs, a 60-year-old Austrian from the district of Braunau am Inn, with multiple and relevant previous convictions, to be located.
In the course of the investigation, it turned out that the accused is said to have once again offered larger quantities of cocaine for sale in the city of Braunau. In cooperation with the police service dogs of the LPD Upper Austria, the 60-year-old was arrested at his home address in possession of high-quality cocaine.
In the course of the search measures, cocaine was seized in addition to sales utensils and cash. By order of the Ried im Innkreis public prosecutor’s office, the accused was admitted to the Ried prison on June 27, 2023. Other people who have received narcotic drugs from the accused will be reported.
