In times of rising prices and economic worries, animals are also crushed. Two animal welfare organizations have teamed up and are hosting a flea market.

Regina Resch from the Vöcklabruck animal protection association knows the needs very well: animal owners can no longer or do not want to afford medicines, veterinary costs or special feed. “In my 15 years as chairman, I have never encountered such horrors in dealing with animals. A pregnant cat was handed in to the veterinary clinic to be put down. Boxes of newborn kittens are thrown over fences, former four-legged family members at highway and Bus stations suspended.”

Katharina Jelinek from the Schutzhof in Frankenburg can also sing a song about it. The number of animals seeking help far exceeds the capacities, especially the financial ones, to buy litter or special feed. Special “problem children” are senior animals and sick animals.

Regina Resch therefore had the idea of organizing a flea market on World Animal Protection Day (4 October) at the Schutzhof in Frankenburg, with the proceeds going to the farm. We are looking for well-preserved winter clothing, books and crockery as well as supporting hands. Register with Regina Resch by phone (0664) 4200240.
