The 22-year-old is said to have repeatedly committed fraud on the Internet for months. The victims came from all over Germany, the police said on Wednesday evening. The man from Linz is said to have sold tickets for music events under a false name on online sales platforms, but never sent them. He also had various goods sent to him by means of fake transfer confirmations without ever paying for them.
After extensive and nationwide file merging, the public prosecutor’s office in Linz issued an arrest order. The young man’s handcuffs clicked at around 8:30 a.m. at his workplace on Wednesday. He confessed during the interrogation and stated that he had acted out of financial difficulties. The arrested person was taken to the Linz prison.
