Together with two officers from the Steyr police, Ringer recently got an idea of how and where e-scooter drivers are traveling in Steyr. The most used scooter routes and places where complaints about scooter drivers had been made were visited. The aim of the campaign was to point out incorrect behavior to scooter users.
“The most common problem with scooter riders is that they ride on the sidewalk,” Ringer notes. In general, the same rules would apply to driving e-scooters as to cycling,” explains the VP city councilwoman.
“It is clear that our infrastructure in Steyr needs to be better adapted to non-vehicle traffic, i.e. pedestrians, cyclists and scooter drivers.” This ensures the safety of all road users.
