He broad front (FA) agreed that the presidential formula for the elections next year they will be equal and defined its policy of alliances, where it did not rule out adding sectors that are in government today.

The president of the FA, Fernando Pereira, He highlighted the party’s position and assured that those who are candidates and are defeated in the internal elections will be available for the presidential formula, something that could be synthesized as “he who loses, accompanies.”

Thus, after a debate of more than three hours, a document was unanimously signed regarding the conformation of the formula and another that came out by majority consensus, regarding the alliances with parties that today make up the Multicolored Coalition.

Pereira highlighted on this last point that the objective is to “extend to broad front to build a policy of alliances” and, along these lines, summoned “sectors that are in the National Party, in it Colorado Party, in Town meeting, in it independent party or, even, in other sectors, to join this bloc”.

In this line, he stressed that they aim to form “a political and social bloc of changes”, whose objective will be “to build the majority that changes to neoliberalism in the Uruguay, to change these policies that have done so much damage to Uruguayans”.

Pereira highlighted the consensus when integrating the formula

Regarding the pre-candidacies within the broad front, Pereira stressed that “it is a very important document because the right wing insisted that we were not capable of building consensus formulas with the current pre-candidacies”.

When explaining the scope of the proposal, he indicated that “it is basically that all those who present themselves as candidates for the Presidency agree to be part of the presidential formula and that the formula will be parity.” Added to this is the relationship with union and social movements.

The objective, the president of the FA pointed out, is “so that the range of support for the progressive government is so wide, that it can make profound changes, as proposed in the program document that is already circulating throughout the country.”
