The two entry-level models in the Mercedes electric world, the EQA and the EQB, are each undergoing a subtle update. The refreshed Stuttgarter will come onto the market in early 2024. Then there are also exact prices.

Mercedes scatters asterisks

Instead of a radiator grille, Mercedes closed the openings at the front with a glossy black panel surface. The only decoration: two horizontal elevations. And now? As the Stuttgart scattered dozens of stars over the front. “Star Pattern” is what Mercedes calls the striking innovation. In the basic equipment lines, however, it remains with the linear elevations.

At the rear, the developers gave the LED light strip a more striking 3D effect. Four new rim designs (18, 19 and 20 inches) complement the previous selection, as well as the new colors high-tech silver and spectral blue extend the paint range.

Tires with optimized rolling resistance and aerodynamic improvements increase the maximum range of the EQA from 531 to 560 kilometers.

For the first time, a trailer hitch with ESP trailer stabilization is optionally available for the EQB with five seats. The maximum trailer load is 1400 (front-wheel drive) or 1700 kilograms (all-wheel drive). Mercedes specifies the vertical load as 80 kilograms – perfect for bicycle carriers with e-bikes. The EQA already had an optional trailer hitch.

10.25 inch screen from the base

Even with the basic version, the Stuttgart-based company is now installing a 10.25-inch touchscreen in the middle, using the latest steering wheel model with all the practical sensor control panels. Mercedes made slight changes to the MBUX infotainment system, including a clearer display of the loading side. The optional Burmester sound system gives the music more space, clarity and depth.

The Plug&Charge model is user-friendly: simply insert the plug into a public charging station and the charging process will be automatically billed to your Mercedes me account. A charge card is no longer necessary.

In addition to a new reversing camera, the Swabians are equipping the two entry-level models with a modified Active Lane Keeping Assist. Steering corrections are no longer controlled via ESP, but through direct steering intervention. This should be more comfortable.

The EQA and EQB come with three power levels (140, 168 and 215 kW) and two battery sizes (66.5 and 70.5 kWh). Depending on the model, the ranges of the EQA vary between 411 and 560 kilometers. With EQB, the values are between 396 and 536 kilometers.
