Hofer has the edge in hardcover photo books and Lidl in softcover photo books. The price differences of up to 21 euros for the A4 format and 13 euros for the A5 format show that it’s worth comparing!
For the A4 photo book, the total costs, including shipping and handling fees, range from EUR 21.44 at Hofer to EUR 42.65 at the most expensive provider. The cheapest provider (Lidl) charges EUR 15.89 for the A5 photo book and EUR 28.90 for the most expensive provider.
The price per page was calculated in order to take into account the different number of pages in the photo books on offer. At Hofer, the A4 page costs the least at 89 cents, at Lidl the A5 is the cheapest at 66 cents.
For the comparison, photo books in A4 format with hard cover and in A5 format with soft cover, each with digital printing and the fewest possible number of pages, were selected. The costs of 21 providers were researched on the Internet. Three providers are located and produce in Austria. These are Happy Foto, Color Drack (Austrobild) and fotobook. Color Drack and fotobook supply the Austrian photo trade.
Tips:
- When you compare prices, don’t just look at the total price, but also at the page count.
- Those in a hurry should note the delivery time, as this can take up to 9 working days.
- Most providers also offer photo books on real photo paper. Here the pages are not printed, but photo paper with exposed photos are bound. Expect a higher price if you choose a real photo book.
