Two people died when a plane crashed at an air show in Hungary

Two people died and four were injured this Sunday when a plane crashed during an air show in Hungarylocal authorities reported.

Local authorities stated that the air show took place at the airport in Borgond in the city of Szekesfehervarabout 70 kilometers southwest of Budapest.

“According to the first information, in addition to the pilot there was a passenger on the plane and, tragically, both lost their lives instantly,” the police said, reported the ANSA agency.

On the ground, however, four people were injured, three of whom suffered serious burns.

A spokesman for the Hungarian National Ambulance Service reported that the seriously injured were a woman, a man and a girl, while another young man suffered minor injuries.

A video that was broadcast in local media shows the plane – a Trojan T-28 of North American aviation in 1951 – crashing and exploding on the ground.

“The plane crashed next to a parked car, which caught fire due to the impact of the debris,” the police explained.
