Maxian’s new investigators are on the move in the Wachau

The Vöcklabruck bestselling author Beate Maxian is publishing her new crime novel next week. “A Deadly Vintage” is the first case for delicatessen dealer Lou Conrad and star chef Fabio Gerber and the start of a new crime series.

At the big wine festival in the Wachau, the idyll is disrupted when a vineyard catches fire and the winemaker is found dead. Lou Conrad, former inspector and winemaker’s daughter, is back in her homeland and throws herself into the investigation.

With her Vienna crime novels about the journalist Sarah Pauli, Beate Maxian created a cult figure in the crime genre. She received several scholarships and was nominated for awards several times. In 2022, together with her husband Jeff Maxian, she received the Honorary Glauser for special services to German-language crime literature.

“A Deadly Vintage” by Beate Maxian will be published by Goldmann Verlag on September 20th and is 320 pages thick. The crime thriller is available in bookstores for 17.50 euros.
