For weeks, a jury dealt with submissions from companies and communities that aim to make mobility more efficient and climate-friendly. Yesterday, Wednesday, three Upper Austrian “mobility role models” were honored with the mobility award under the motto “Shaping the future now” by Provincial Councilor Günther Steinkellner (FP), VCÖ press spokesman Christian Gratzer and Eva Hackl from the ÖBB.
The Innviertel company Frauscher Sensortechnik from St. Marienkirchen was pleased about this. Among other things, an employee bonus of up to 1,000 euros was introduced there for the purchase of a bicycle and carpooling was organized via an app. The Thalheim local bus, which has been running since December 2022, also received an award. By the end of August 2023, around 19,000 passengers were counted on the new line. Also among the award winners is the city of Linz’s bicycle rental system. The 380 bicycles at 42 locations throughout the city were used for more than 40,000 trips this year.
