In an Instagram video (see below) you can see how the 36-year-old ÖFB team player, who is also a tattoo artist, engraves a modified Champions League logo on his former teammate’s thigh. Instead of the UEFA lettering, Mattuschka’s leg is now adorned with bold red “FCUB” letters and a ball.

The 42-year-old Sky expert played for the current German Bundesliga club from 2005 to 2014. Mattuschka had promised his former teammate Trimmel on the microphone in January that he would let him get his first tattoo if 1. FC Union Berlin qualified for the Champions League.

“I didn’t think at the time that they could do it,” he said a few months ago: “But if I do something like that, then I stand by it. They did it, so it should immortalize itself on me.” The Berliners will face Real Madrid at their premiere in the “premier league” on Wednesday.
