The prosecutor in the case of Valentina Cancelapresented the sentence of 10 years of deprivation of liberty to the murderer of the 17-year-old teenager, who occurred on August 15 of this year by her ex-boyfriend, Santino Gandini, on a beach in Punta del Este.
As reported this Wednesday by the Director of Communication of the Prosecutor’s Office, Javier Benechthe Prosecutor’s Office requested the highest sentence that can be given to a teenager to the femicide of Valentina Cancela, since his murderer is 17 years old. The accused is his ex-partner and the Justice requested that he be charged with homicide especially aggravated by femicide.
The teenager has been charged since August 17, after having confessed to the crime and specifying the place where he had hidden the body of Valentina Cancela. Currently, he is housed in a unit of the National Institute for Adolescent Social Inclusion (Inisa) in Montevideo, where he must serve the sentence imposed by the Adolescent Justice.
The complaint to the State
