The man’s left hand got caught in the auger and became trapped, police said.
The farmer’s brother and an acquaintance heard the injured man’s cries for help. They managed to turn back the screw conveyor and free the man with a pipe wrench. After initial treatment, the 30-year-old was flown by rescue helicopter to the Kepler University Hospital in Linz.
