Compared to July 2022, the increase in coverage in German territory was 38.1%; since the more the network expands, the more complicated its progress becomes, explained the DPA news agency.
This is due, for example, to the fact that in some places companies cannot find suitable land to erect their poles.
Regarding the slowest radio spectrum, 4G, coverage in Germany was 97.2% in July, which represented an increase of 0.2 points from January 2023 and one percentage point from July 2022.
Until now there are three mobile network operators in Germany: Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone and Telefónica Deutschland (O2); to which a fourth company (1&1) would be added.
The numbers show progress in 5G network coverage, although the informative value for consumers in Germany is limited, because these are grouped values.
If a network operator has 5G antennas in a town and the other two network operators do not, that town is still considered covered, even if the customers of the other two network operators do not have a 5G connection.
