Inflation, inflation and of course the long-term consequences of the Corona crisis are not only noticeable, they are also increasing the demand for advice and therapy. That is why the city of Linz has created two additional positions for clinical psychologists and implemented the new psychological counseling center in Ebelsberg, says Deputy Mayor Karin Hörzing (SP).

The main pillars of the offer are the Ebelsberg-Ennsfeld parent-child center and the Pichling family center. In both facilities, more than 1,800 consultations were carried out by social workers last year. 5,200 visitors would also show that these city facilities have an important meeting point function for families.

Back to the psychological stress. According to Hörzing, these have increased significantly in recent years, which is also reflected in the number of advisory contacts. 4,405 such contacts were a new record last year; in the first six months of this year there were already 2,606 contacts.

The centers mentioned in the south of Linz not only provide advice, but also host a wide range of events and offers. In addition to many seminars, courses and lectures, the Ebelsberg-Ennsfeld Parent-Child Center is offering mom-baby yoga under professional guidance for the first time this year.
