A 29-year-old young woman, granddaughter of Uruguayans, She has been kidnapped since October 7 by the terrorist group Hamas; so the Uruguayan government gave him the citizenship and formally requested immediate release.

The girl’s name is Shani Gorenis the granddaughter of Uruguayans and was kidnapped on October 7 when the terrorist group Hamas broke into Israel kidnapping and killing civilians. The relatives went to the government to request the woman’s nationality and try to bring her to the Uruguay.

The case even reached the president Luis Lacalle Pou, who promised to intervene in the situation. With this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented a statement in which it assures that the government granted nationality to Shani Goren, considering her a Uruguayan citizen, for which they formally requested her immediate release to Israel.

“As far as we know, Goren is currently being held hostage in Gaza. “This diplomatic mission wishes to express its utmost concern for his situation and request—through the efforts of his Ministry—his immediate release,” the statement states.

Three women were freed by Hamas

Two other women, a mother and daughter, were also released for “humanitarian reasons.” Of American nationality, the women were identified as Judith and Natali Raanan, ages 59 and 17, who were kidnapped from the Nahal Oz kibbutz in southern Israel. The release of the hostages took place thanks to the mediation of Taste.
