The fire brigade, police, emergency doctor and rescue team were on duty on the B148, Altheimer Straße, on Tuesday around 2:20 p.m. after a car overturned. The driver, a 47-year-old Romanian, said she may have dozed off briefly at the wheel. She lost control of her red Opel and left the road in a right-hand bend. Her car overturned and ended up on its roof in an adjacent meadow, the police said in the evening.
The Romanian woman was able to free herself from the badly damaged vehicle with the help of first aiders. She sustained such serious injuries in the accident that she had to be taken to the hospital in Ried im Innkreis by ambulance. The Braunau am Inn and St. Peter am Hart fire departments were called in to carry out the clean-up work.
