Acting director Stephan Suschke surprisingly announced his retirement from the role of acting director at the end of the current season (2023/2024) in a conversation with the Linz acting ensemble today. He explained this step with personal reasons.

Stephan Suschke in a broadcast from the State Theater: “I am happy about the theater work in Linz, which has made it possible to develop an extraordinary acting ensemble that has produced many great performances. I am sure that this path will also be successfully pursued by my successor and I wish him/her and the ensemble much success.”

Director Hermann Schneider took this opportunity to thank Stephan Suschke for his successful artistic commitment in Linz and announced to the ensemble that he would quickly find a suitable successor to lead the theater in Linz.

Hermann Schneider: “I very much regret Stephan Suschke’s early retirement and respect his decision as well. – I would like to thank him already for his collegial and integrity-based collaboration, his loyalty to the house – but above all I would like to thank him for his great artistic achievement, the renovated theater with its three stages and around a thousand seats with an exceptionally good ensemble with a clever “To play the programmed game plan so successfully.”
