At an audience in the Vatican this morning, he is said to have refrained from reading out his speech, Kathpress reported. His health is not good, he said. The Reuters news agency reported that he had a cold. The Vatican confirmed that the speech would be distributed to the participants.
The incident occurred during an audience with a delegation from the European Rabbinical Conference. A total of eight appointments were planned for the Catholic church leader on Monday. In the afternoon he is scheduled to meet with around 7,000 children in the Vatican audience hall.
