Metal workers’ strike caused traffic jams in Linz’s early morning traffic

The access roads to voestalpine were blocked, so at 7.30 a.m. the traffic jam on the Mühlkreisautobahn (A7) stretched back to Treffling on the Westautobahn from Freistadt, with a loss of an hour. In the other direction on the Westautobahn (A1) the backlog continued until the Franzenhausweg exit. The Ebelsberg bypass and the Donau Straße (B3) to Luftenberg were also affected by the traffic jams, as the ÖAMTC reported on Wednesday.

The traffic jams started at 6 a.m. and the trend was still increasing at 7:30 a.m. “It is currently very slow to travel by car in Linz,” said the traffic club. Line 18 could not operate in Linz city traffic.
