What ChatGPT can do now

So far, the program’s knowledge of the world ended in September 2021. The developer company OpenAI will strive to never be so far behind again, said its boss Sam Altman at a developer conference this week.

ChatGPT now runs on GPT-4 Turbo, the new generation of AI technology. This makes it easier to create specialized chatbots for individual tasks, such as giving advice on how to remove stains from laundry or explaining board game rules. According to Altman, such AI assistants can be programmed using voice. This feature could undermine the business of companies that specialize in customizing ChatGPT for specific applications.

100 million users per week

According to Altman, around two million developers currently use ChatGPT. More than 100 million users worldwide use the platform weekly. Tailored applications of artificial intelligence could put the platform on an even broader basis, said the founder: “We will be able to do more, create more and have more.”

OpenAI also wants to open a GPT store comparable to online marketplaces for games and apps. Developers should be able to earn money depending on how many people use their GPTs. ChatGPT was launched around a year ago. The program is able to use AI to generate essays, poems or conversations from short prompts. Companies like Microsoft and Google are also working on AI solutions.
