There was a brief excitement on Saturday afternoon in the city of Gmunden. According to Fritz Stadlmayr from the press office of the Upper Austria State Police Directorate, the reason was a hand grenade that was found by an employee of an eviction company while clearing out an apartment. “The man took the hand grenade and handed it over to the city guard,” says Stadlmayr. The defusing service is on the way to Gmunden to then dispose of the hand grenade. There was no danger, says the police spokesman. In general, if war materials are found, you should call the police immediately and under no circumstances touch the items.
There was a lot going on in the Gmunden city area in the morning. The reason was the carnival opening. The town hall key was handed over to the “Hatschataler Carnival Committee”.
