Two leagues – two different worlds. That applied to both state leagues this fall.

In the West, the title fight is already almost decided. SV Gmunden’s 1:3 defeat against Bad Wimsbach doesn’t change anything. The hosts gave their coach Thomas Plasser a nice farewell present. The OÖN had already reported on Friday that the long-term coach was about to move to Mondsee. This was officially confirmed by the Upper Austrian league team on Saturday. With 37 points, the Gmundners are not only eleven points ahead of their first pursuer, Schalchen. The games were also won so confidently that with a goal difference of 40:9, they had a bigger advantage than the next four pursuers put together: Schalchen, Gschwandt, Grieskirchen and Peuerbach.

Tension in the East

The situation in the East is completely different. With a 2-0 win over Naarn, Rohrbach overtook the league leader Askö Donau with a 2-0 win in the last round.

But this title fight will remain dramatic in the spring, after the Askö Danube has been the measure of all things in the past few weeks and the sadness after the death of Marko Varga has brought the team even closer together.

In the fight for the relegation place, the East is also clearly ahead. The lead between Donau (East) and Schalchen (West) is currently seven points.
