Gruber becomes managing director: change of president at LASK

During the general meeting, the following was formally decided at the Bundesliga soccer team LASK: Siegmund Gruber is moving to the management of LASK, the previous vice president, Christoph Königslehner, is taking over the office of president.

With the appointment of Siegmund Gruber as managing director, the further development of the club will be pushed forward. This also ensures that the diverse and constantly increasing challenges can be met. As before, the management consists of Hans-Jürgen Jandrasits (finance) and Radovan Vujanovic (sport).

LASK is heading for record results

The development of LASK is also reflected in the balance sheet for the current financial year. According to the planning calculations, the 2023/24 year will be completed with an expected record turnover and thus the best annual result in the club’s history. In the 2022/23 financial year, the club generated sales of EUR 26.5 million.

The negative result of 3.7 million euros in the past season for the first time in eight years results from the Raiffeisen Arena not being ready for occupancy until February 2023 instead of July 2022 as originally planned. Nevertheless, LASK has positive equity of 30.4 million euros.

“We considered who could best meet the requirements profile and optimally handle the considerable area of ​​responsibility. We quickly decided that we had the best solution in-house. With Siegmund Gruber, the club has chosen a solution that combines professional expertise, a comprehensive network and a big heart for LASK. We are very happy and proud that he has decided to take on this position. In his role as president, he always gave everything for LASK and will continue to do so as managing director. This will also be necessary because I would not be able to do the work that Siegmund has put in over the past ten years for family and professional reasons,” says Neo-President Christoph Königslehner.

Siegmund Gruber: “LASK has grown enormously in recent years. We have therefore been aware for some time that we need to position ourselves more broadly. I was now asked to take on the role of managing director. I am convinced that we are well positioned for the future – and can therefore take the next development steps.”
